Why Use Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers help to restore lost volume and smooth out wrinkles, giving the skin a plumper, more youthful appearance. They're a quick, minimally invasive way to enhance facial contours and reduce signs of aging without the need for surgery.

Most Common Areas Treated with Dermal Fillers

Treatment that can address a range of Aesthetics needs, including:

Cheeks

Research shows that our eyes recognize high, full cheekbones as a sign of youth and beauty. As we age, volume diminishes in the face and cheeks begin to flatten and sag. This leads to the appearance of a flat face, lines around the mouth, shadows under the eyes, and sagging skin along the jawline. Take your hands and pinch the skin on your cheekbones. Notice how this pulls up the skin on your lower face while also helping with undereye sagging.

Dermal Fillers can be used to restore volume in the cheeks and recreate the youthful structure that has been lost. The result is a subtle, yet remarkable smoothing of facial wrinkles and return of youthful contour.

Well-defined cheeks create balance, improve the facial profile, and are a classic symbol of youth. Whether you have experienced volume loss in the cheek area, or have never had defined cheekbones in the past, dermal fillers can be used for cheek augmentation to create contour, improve under eye appearance, and enhance the overall facial shape. Enhancement of cheek volume can add lift, definition, and youthful contour to the mid-face region.

Nasolabial Folds

This is one of the most common concerns as women age. Nasolabial folds are the grooves that run from the base of your nose to the corner of your mouth. Treatment of nasolabial folds involves a full-face assessment to determine the cause and choose the most appropriate filler and placement. Filling in the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth helps to smooth and soften the appearance of nasolabial folds to create a softening of these lines to maintain a youthful, healthy appearance.

Temples

Filler injections in the temples are used to restore volume and contour to the addressing hollowing or sunken appearance in this area.

Marionette Lines

Dermal fillers in marionette lines can soften the appearance of these lines, which are the lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin. By filling in these lines, dermal fillers can help reduce the appearance of sagging or downturned mouth corners, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance in the lower face . Additionally, they can restore lost volume in the area, improving overall facial harmony.

Lips

Enhancement of lip volume, shape, and definition, providing plumper and more defined lips

Chin

Dermal fillers in the chin offer a versatile solution for various aesthetic concerns. They can augment and contour the chin, correcting asymmetry and enhancing projection for a more balanced facial profile. By softening wrinkles and lines, they contribute to a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Jawline

Jawline filler can enhance definition, symmetry, and balance of the jawline. They can also provide a more youthful appearance by restoring volume loss and minimizing the appearance of jowls or sagging skin. Additionally, they can help create a more harmonious facial profile by improving overall facial balance.

FDA

Approved

Dermal fillers are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in helping to lift, smooth, and contour facial features by strategically adding volume to areas of the face where it is needed. Treatment with dermal filler creates a smoother appearance in the face & body, including nasolabial folds, cheeks, jawline, pyriform aperture, temples, chin, neck, hands, etc. Soft tissue fillers have a temporary effect because they contain materials that are absorbed by the body over time.

As we age, our face naturally loses some of its fullness in the form of receding bone and fat pad loss. The loss of volume leads to facial shadowing, deeper folds, and the appearance of lines. When we identify areas with volume-loss and recreate that structure with small filler injections, skin lays smoother on the face while wrinkles and sagging are improved.

Dermal fillers can be used to restore volume through subtle placement in areas around the face such as the cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and lips. This creates a healthy, more refined facial contour and youthful appearance.

Your Questions Answered: Dermal Fillers FAQS

What are dermal fillers made of?

Dermal fillers are made of a soft gel consisting of non-animal hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar-molecule in the body, and it is found in our skin. HA attracts water, which helps to hydrate and add volume to the skin. It is naturally broken down by our bodies.

Are dermal filler injections painful?

For fillers, we use a small needle, and the quick injection usually feels like a small pinch. The injection may also sting a bit, but our fillers come pre-mixed with anesthetic, so most patients find the treatment very tolerable. We also provide cold compresses to patients for increased comfort and reduced swelling after their injections.

When will my results be visible?

Unlike neurotoxins (botox), which can take up to 2 weeks to take effect, the results of dermal fillers are noticeable immediately.

Is there downtime after dermal fillers?

The healing time from a dermal filler injection is usually minimal. Most people can resume their normal activities after the procedure. Some common side effects like redness, swelling, and bruising may occur though typically resolve within a few days. For this reason it’s best not to schedule your procedure before an important event. It is essential to follow post-procedure instructions given by your provider to ensure proper healing and optimal results.

How long will dermal fillers last?

The duration of dermal fillers depends on the area injected, type of filler, injection technique and patient metabolism. Most fillers last between 6-18 months.
